Hood Struts (Pair)

A pair of bolt-on hood struts for the SW20 MR2. They hold the hood open on their own, so you can retire the prop rod. A nice upgrade to any build.

Not all hood struts are created equal. There's very little room between the hood and fenders when the hood is closed, and this is the only kit that fits properly without bulging out the fenders or the hood.

Features:

• Bolts on with the factory 10 mm fender bolt and 12 mm hood bolt, no drilling
• Slim enough to sit in the gap between the hood and fenders with the hood closed
• Holds the hood open on its own, no prop rod needed

What's included:

• 2 hood struts
• 4 washers (2 small, 2 large)

Install:

1. Remove the 10 mm fender bolt. Install the body end of the strut with a small washer. The body attaches to the fender side.
2. Remove the 12 mm hood bolt. Install the rod end of the strut with a large washer. The rod attaches to the hood side.
3. Repeat on the other side. Both struts must be installed; one isn't enough to hold the hood.

Use only a 3/8" wrench for both bolts.

Note: if your fenders have been removed before, or the front end has been in an accident, you may run into minor fitment issues. If a fender was pushed in too far when its bolts were tightened, it will need to be realigned.
